Introduction
A busy retail park on a sunny Saturday. Crowds. Chaos. Then: a call. A pedestrian had been hit by a van. The victim died at the scene.
Witnesses couldn’t agree on the van’s colour. No one caught the plate. No one had seen the driver clearly. What we had was grief, confusion and grainy footage from six different sources. We had to find the suspect fast.
S21 CCTV didn’t just help us narrow it down. It showed us where to go, what to watch, and how to prove it.
We ingested all footage into S21 CCTV. Mixed formats, variable frame rates — it didn’t matter. The system processed everything instantly.
Vehicle detection let us isolate all dark panel vans across entry and exit points. From dozens, it filtered down to 14. Motion tracking flagged one that lingered near the impact zone and sped out moments later.
A partial plate was picked up by a side-facing traffic cam. Using OCR/ANPR, we tracked it through city-wide feeds until we had a full plate — and a second view of the van. This time, we caught a glimpse of the driver.
Low light, poor angle, blurry detail. But video enhancement brought out enough to run a facial appearance search, leading us to footage of the suspect exiting a nearby shop minutes after the hit-and-run.
All bystander faces were redacted automatically. Exported clips were timestamped and disclosure-ready.
From Confusion to Confirmation
We used vehicle search to identify the suspect van. ANPR helped us find it in other footage and track its journey. Enhancement and facial search gave us a suspect. All footage stayed offline and secure. Facial redaction was used on innocent bystanders and a court-ready report was produced.
A dozen angles. Dozens of vehicles. One face that didn’t disappear.
The van was found and tracked within 4 hours. The driver identified and arrested. The family got answers within a day.
