Fresh from university, the world of digital forensics can appear complicated. The use of various software, sometimes with not the most user-friendly workflows, can be a real barrier.
When involved with their first case, the new investigator is worried that the software would be difficult to understand and use. However, using S21 LASERi-X couldn’t be easier. Starting out with “Clean mode” enabled, it allows for distraction-free grading, with only the basic options on show. The investigator was also pleased to find out that it was easy to come back into “Standard mode”, with the familiar-looking ribbon menu across the top of the application and in-app help videos.
Moving through the case, the investigator became more and more familiar with the tool and began to find specific features they are now using the most. The investigator jumped with joy when they added these features to the “Favourites” tab, as this sped up the case investigation.
As the investigator progressed through the coming weeks and months, they utilised more and more of the customisable features with S21 LASERi-X, contributing regularly to Semantics 21 with feature requests.
